![]() ![]() This collection is a must-have for fans of Clare’s work. As for this collection, it was good, it was engaging, and it was filled with characters the reader knows and loves the message about love and acceptance was also really well incorporated into all the stories, which was nice to read about. It wouldn’t be surprising if some of those stories were a foreshadowing to her upcoming trilogy. Some felt like they were written for the reader just to please them because it didn’t feel relevant to any plot. The plots varied, some were truly cute and heartwarming and kept the reader invested, whereas some felt slightly out of place. KIRKUS Set in a magic-inflected version of the present-day U.S., this first title in the Magisterium series combines the talents of Black (Doll Bones) and Clare (the Mortal Instruments series) in a thrilling coming-of-age story that embraces fantasy tropes while keeping readers guessing. It was also nice to read side stories about them, to keep the reader in on what characters have been up to between books it was a nice little bonus. ![]() ![]() That is what made this a wonderful companion, the reader got to visit and see characters they may not have read about for a while. The reader gets to go down memory lane with this as each story touches on past series or trilogies that Clare has written in the past. Ghosts of the Shadow Market by: Cassandra Clare: This novel that contains short stories of the Shadow Market throughout the centuries, with one constant, Silent Brother Zachariah or Jem Carstairs as he’s known to some.
